Exceeding the Speed Limits during Pony Jumping

The competition was fierce during the Restaurant ’t Zusje Prize pony jumping classes. The combinations raced through the arena at full speed, and the fastest rider in the C-class 80cm was Milou Hoving with her pony Mister Macho. “We haven’t been a combination for very long yet, and in the beginning he sometimes used to buck over the jumps, but luckily he doesn’t do that anymore now, haha!” Milou can now hang not one, but two The Dutch Masters rosettes in her cabinet, as she also won the B-class 70cm here last year with her other pony. Grey ponies dominated the leaderboard, as the victory in the C 90cm - 1m class also went to a grey: Sammy-Jo Selten with her white Jumping Jewel.

Brabant pride with Fenne Knopjes
The ponies got bigger and the fences higher during the DE 90cm - 1m class. Fenne Knopjes rode a lightning-fast jump-off with her Kaley van de Beekerheide, setting the winning time. “Kaley is always super fast! I really like that, although sometimes she can be a bit difficult to ride. But after a year of training together I’ve learned how to deal with that,” said the young rider, who in her short career has already become Brabant champion seven times and Dutch champion twice. “I’ve only been to The Dutch Masters once before myself and I think it’s a beautiful competition. Everything looks so nice!” said the proud Brabant pony rider.
