With a packed grandstand, the program in Arena 2 kicked off today with the Restaurant 't Zusje Prize for 1.20m combinations. Regional riders competed against each other to determine who could crown themselves today's winner. That honor went to Annelinde Hoving, who had traveled specially from Groningen, together with her horse Oleta. With a lightning-fast jump-off, she managed to leave Chiara van der Linden, who finished second, and Erwin de Bruin, who completed the podium in third place, behind her. "When I won with Oleta at Jumping Amsterdam a few weeks ago, I was already hugely impressed, but The Dutch Masters adds another layer on top of that," says the winner. "Oleta is truly a horse made for speed. Sharp turns and fast lines, she does it all."
From The Dutch Masters Debutant to Victory
The rails then went down for the 1.10 meter class, once again made possible by Restaurant 't Zusje. The victory went to Lynne Bijl, who only three weeks ago could call herself reserve Dutch champion. "We've only been a combination since August, so not that long yet. But I can say that we already know each other very well; she really does everything for me," says the The Dutch Masters debutant. "It's my very first time riding at The Dutch Masters and I think it's such a beautiful event. When you're in the ring, but also when you walk around, you can see that everything is beautifully decorated and there are fun stalls and shops everywhere. I've never even been here as a visitor before, but I find it really wonderful!" The podium of this exciting jumping class was completed by Kasia Hooijmaijers and Quincy Karman.
