Richard Vogel claims second victory in NAB Bliksembeveiliging Prize

Richard Vogel is in great form at The Dutch Masters. The German rider also claimed victory in the NAB Bliksembeveiliging Prize with the ten-year-old Diamant de Casall, securing his second win of the weekend. Vogel and Diamant de Casall have only recently partnered up, but the pair already seem to understand each other extremely well.

“Diamant de Casall seems to really like the Brabanthallen,” Vogel said afterwards. “We haven’t been riding together for very long, but he clearly feels comfortable here. He wants to be competitive and fast in the ring. It already feels like we have great chemistry, which gives me confidence for the future.”

In a fast jump-off, Vogel narrowly stayed ahead of the competition. Among those finishing close behind him was his partner Sophie Hinners, who took second place with Come Away Flamingo Z.

“Luckily, I was the first to go in the jump-off,” Vogel laughed. “That meant I could immediately put the pressure on. Sophie knew exactly what she had to do, but this time it worked out in my favour. It’s always nice when things go well within the team. We help and motivate each other.”

Dutch rider Piet Raijmakers Jr. continued his strong form in ’s-Hertogenbosch. Riding For Freedom EKT, he finished third and prevented an all-German podium by finishing ahead of Katrin Eckermann with Comilio. Henk van de Poltook fifth place with No Fathers Girl.
