Leopold Van Asten wins with own VDL breeding product
The first victory at the Dutch Masters went to Leopold Van Asten who rode a clear round with VDL Groep Iron Z in a 1m40 in two phases, the NAB Bliksembeveiliging Prize. With a second phase in 25.37 he just stayed ahead of Roger-Yves Bost with Urane (SF, Miami de Semilly x Drakkar Des Hutins).
Leopold: "I am very happy with the victory of VDL Groep Iron Z. He is naturally very fast and only rides the side competitions here so I really had the ambition to go for it. That worked out perfectly, I could ride one stride less from eight to nine and also to the last fence I could go full speed. I have been riding VDL Groep Iron Z since last year. He is a son of VDL Groep Charisma Z and is bred at Stoeterij Duyselshof, my boss, that makes this victory extra special." Third place was claimed by Italian Emanuele Gaudiano with Julius.D (KWPN, Arezzo VDL x VDL Emilion).
