Nine of top 10 world ranking riders at The Dutch Masters
The Dutch Masters can count on the participation of no less than nine top riders from the top 10 of the world ranking list of December 2021 that was used to invite the riders. Ben Maher, Daniel Deusser and Martin Fuchs had already confirmed, but now the other six have also definitely signed up.
The field is headed by the world's number one, the Swede Peder Fredricson. The 2017 European Champion and individual silver and team gold medallist at the Tokyo Olympics is bringing his top horse Catch Me Not S to the Brabanthallen. The year 2021 was a very successful year for the Swede and with the SWB gelding Catch Me Not S (by Cardento) he managed to win no less than 3 Grand Prix. Even though his main goal this year is the World Championships in Herning, Denmark, Fredericson is looking forward to The Dutch Masters: "I think it's a great event and I still appreciate that the organisation let the competitions take place last year despite the difficult conditions."
The number 3 in the world, Fredricson's compatriot Henrik von Eckermann, will also be there in 's-Hertogenbosch. In 2019 he managed to win the Rolex Grand Prix in grand fashion with Toveks Mary Lou. Von Eckermann, also a member of the golden Olympic Swedish team in Tokyo, is based in the Netherlands where he runs a stable together with his wife, international rider Janika Sprunger.
The other four in the top 10 are Brazilian Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (5), who finished second in last year's Rolex Grand Prix, Briton Scott Brash (6), the only rider to win the Rolex Grand Slam title so far, Belgian Jérôme Guery (8) and French speedster Julien Epaillard (10).
