Interesting and successful sponsor meeting The Dutch Masters at Academy Bartels
On Friday 3 September, the sponsor meeting of The Dutch Masters-Indoor Brabant took place at Academy Bartels. The guests could count on an interesting meeting, where Jan Roelfs of Studio Sport led a round table discussion and where various world top athletes showed the equestrian sport from its best side.
Round table discussion
In their welcome speech The Dutch Masters director Marcel Hunze and chairman Anky van Grunsven indicated that the event is doing well despite all the Covid setbacks. This is due to the loyalty of the sponsors, Club Indoor Brabant members and suppliers.
Hunze announced that main sponsor Rolex has recently extended the cooperation for a long period. Under the bright sunshine, Albert Verlinde continued the discussion about the impact of Corona on the cultural sector during the round table discussion. Leon Melchior talked about the success of his Eyelove advertising campaign with Rene Froger, which raised brand awareness from 18% to 84% but earned him a lead Loekie for the most irritating commercial. Maikel van der Vleuten joined us to talk about his journey to Tokyo, where he won the individual Olympic bronze medal, and about the impact this medal has had on him.
Equestrian sports in the spotlight
In addition to the animated round table discussion and a delicious dinner by Maison van den Boer, there was also room for demos. The guests were treated to a show jumping competition with various great names from Dutch show jumping. As true sportsmen they all went for the win, but in the end Piet Raijmakers jr. managed to conquer the first prize, a magnum Piper-Heidsieck Champagne. Raijmakers beat Maikel van der Vleuten, Leopold van Asten, Henk van der Pol and Tom Schewe in the exciting jump-off. The dressage fans could enjoy a humorous clinic by dressage queens Anky van Grunsven and Tineke Bartels.
