Spectacular Indoor Derby for Emanuele Gaudiano
Saturday evening traditionally starts with the Van Schijndel Bouwgroep Indoor Derby. A spectacular class with fences in the main arena of the Brabanthal but also in the paddock in the promo village. It requires strength and endurance.
Italy’s Emanuele Gaudiano took first prize after he had bettered Maikel van der Vleuten’s time with nearly a second. Gaudiano, who lives in Germany (Frankfurt am Main) stopped the clock at 80.31 seconds with the eight-year-old mare Carlotta 232 (Chaccomo x Cento). Maikel van der Vleuten had to settle for second place with VDL Groep Quatro (Quaprice Boimargot Quincy x Caletto) in 81.17 seconds. Third place went to Ireland’s Bertram Allen and the 10-year-old Holsteiner mare EH Quick Nina (Quidam’s Rubin x Camiro). Two Belgian riders finished in fourth and fifth place: Nicola Philippaerts (Ustina Sitte) and Gudrun Patteet (Sea Coast Calypso vd Zuuthoeve).
